What have we learning in maths

This term room 14 have been learning about volume and how to solve it. Volume is how many cubes that can fit in the box.We had to build the three the 3D.

This is the boxes we had to estimate witch is the smallest to biggest. Mrs Mellick was doing it as well. In the end we had to see who was right.

On Wednesday the 3 of september we had a trip to Visy.Visy is a place where they recycle it was very cool going to VIsy I had fun in visy I learnt did you know that plastic takes a long time to recycle and that 2.5 million tonnes of rubbish each year in New Zealand has been buried deep down in the soils because people have not put their rubbish in the right bin. Why? Because you cannot recycle rubbish that are not sorted out. ¾ of that rubbish would have been saved and made into to incredible and new stuff that is what learnt in Visy. DId you know 1 tonne saves enogh energy to power a refrigerator for a month and 1 tonnes saves 15 of CO2 emissions. thank you
